Main story arc
This is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign. It is the year 1479DR (Year of the Ageless One).
A new good-aligned god is in the process of rising to the pantheon. As yet, very few know of his existence. He calls himself Master Vim, God of Wondrous Life. He dwells in Corellon's realm of Arvandor. His purpose is to expand appreciation among all beings for all the varieties of life, and his current project is to obtain some samples of living creatures. He is not interested in magically animated life, such as constructs and undead. Eventually, he will enlist the aid of various adventurers in building a preserve for the living specimens he has gathered. This is only gradually revealed during the game.
Initial minor story arcs
Silverymoom
Master Vim is interested in eventually building his preserve in an area near to Silverymoon, but the current political unrest in the region is not conducive to his plans, so he desires to aid Gaerradh in stabilizing the region; he thinks the rings are a good idea.
Loudwater
Several are to be found in the vicinity of Loudwater. Lots of adventures around this.
Rashemen
Stormwind is a mighty treant, who lived for ages in the Ashenwood, in the region called Rashemen. Once an ally of Wychlaran, he has been captured by an escaped fiend from the Fortress of the Half Demon, bound in magic, and brought back there as a prisoner. Vim desires Stormwind as a caretaker for his preserve, and so has made some adjustments in the world to draw a small party of adventurers together to liberate him. The adventurers were gathered to the forbidden forest of Urlingwood. They will have to fight its guardians before they can enter, and meet with a messenger from Vim to learn their purpose here in this far corner of the world.
They are soon captured by the Wychlaran and Old Ones, and are brought back to Immilmar for judgement by the Iron Lord, Mangan Uruk. They are set free, however, once he finds out what is truly going on, and are given some magic items and supplies, and sent off to the Fortress of the Half Demon, to attempt a rescue of Stormwind.
On the way there, the party has many adventures, which get them up to a level suitable for a rescue of Stormwind.
Adventures
Chapter One
- Travel to Loudwater brings the party into contact with Darest, who puts the party on the main quest line.
- Loudwater is where the party can find a lead on the location of one of the rings (Col Fen), and where they can gather specimens of various creatures for Master Vim. Here, they also meet Pico, the fairy dragon, and emissary to Master Vim.
- Earthmote of Com passes by Loudwater, and here they can get through a portal to the Feywild, as well as found an invisible ring in the wizards domain and save a princess.
- The party will Journey to Silverymoon once they have left the Earthmote. Along the way, Vim has them searching for "something", but the party doesn't know what it is (It's a place to put an animal preserve).
Chapter Two: Stormwind
- Urlingwood brings the party of level one characters from the road, into the forest, and then to Immilmar.
- They now Travel to the Fortress of the Half Demon, which has a lot of adventures to get them up a few levels.
- In the Fortress of the Half Demon, the party gets to free Stormwind.
Chapter Three: Moonsea
- Wilds of Thar introduces the party, dropping them off, soaking wet, some forty miles east of Phlan.
Chapter???: Snowdown
- Various characters from various places found themselves in Snowdown, in the Moonshae Isles on the island of Snowdown, where they enlisted in one of the various mercenary bands that control the island. The mercenary bands have recently been hired by settlements on the island of Moray, to battle against incursions of orcs, ogres, and ettins. They enlist with the band called "Yellow Belted Yelpers", who are due back from a mission on Moray. The recruiter and the party are at the bay awaiting the returning ship, when it arrives in the little port. Unfortunately, it's on fire and sinking, and is lost with all hands before anyone can learn what happened.
