This set of adventures uses the 4th edition rules, and is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, as defined in the D&D 4th edition book Forgotten Realms Player's Guide (which I recommend you purchase), and the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide which you should not read if you're going to play this campaign. Here is the map of Faerun that we are using.
Getting started!
Follow these steps to join the fun:
- Read the DnD Intro page for some basic rules.
- Create a character. You must use method one or two to get ability scores, as described on page 17 of the 4th edition player's handbook. You can use any race or class in any 4th edition book. Check with the DM (me) if you want to use something not from a published book.
- Using the map of Faerun and the Forgotten Realms Player's Guide determine a basic background for your character, and get the corresponding bonus as described in the book.
- All of the deities are available, from the PHB and the Forgotten Realms.
- Show up at the Hidden Keep, on our game night (As of 2011, it's every Saturday at 6:00 PM), and we can play!
If you have any questions, or need some help with anything, just send me an email. We can get together at the game store early, or at a different time, and get your character ready.

The group of characters had met several days before, while travelling to Loudwater, and for convenience and safety, journeyed together. While still about ten miles east of Loudwater, in the Southwood, they were walking along the trail through the forest when they spotted a burning wagon up ahead through the trees. They heard someone making a muffled cry from inside, so Nalla and Rezzel rushed forward to render assistance, while the others kept on the lookout for an ambush.
Inside the wagon, they found a female elf ranger, bound and gagged. Upon freeing her, she called their attention to a battle in progress nearby; sure enough, some goblins and human bandits were engaged in a battle further up the trail. The goblins had just dispatched the last of the humans, when the noticed the party, and attacked.
A vicious battle followed. At one point, there were three goblins bobbing about in a nearby pond. The party threw spells and shuriken, swung weapons of many varieties, and took lots of crossbow bolts. Finally, the fight ended up with many dead goblins and a dead bugbear. The last goblin was scurrying away with a bag of looted treasure from some of the bodies, but Bbitar turned into a giant bunny, and brought it down.
Speaking with Darest, they learned a tale about some Invisible Rings. Darest offered them an unspecified reward, if they could locate one of the rings purported to be in this area, and return it to her, to deliver to her mistress in Silverymoon. The party agreed to lend aid in this venture. The party found a fairly large number of coins, and put it into the party fund.
After a short rest, they continued their journey westward, arriving at Loudwater in the evening, just before the gates were closed for the night.
They got directions to the Green Tankard Inn, apparently a favorite of adventures in the town. On the way there, they passed several establishments that seemed interesting. In particular, Garwan's Curiosities had a horn-shaped knife in the window, which seemed that it might be magical. As Garwan was closing up his shop, he assured them that yes, it was magical, and they could purchase it for 520 GP, but not until the next morning.
That night, Marick went scouting through the rest of the town. In the docks district, he met up with a dwarf named Zark, who asked Marick to come back the next night and help unload some cargo, in exchange for "good pay".
The next morning, the group left the Green Tankard, and were crossing the south plaza when the southern wall of the town exploded in a barrage of fire, rocks and dust! Goblins came flooding through the gap, including three enormous bugbears!
Once again, a terrific battle commenced. Spells flew, weapons flashed, and two bugbears and a goblin went down the well. A goblin hexer kept up a magical cloud that caused some problems for the party, but he was ultimately defeated. On his body was found a letter, to the effect that these goblins were after the horn totem, which was the magical item on display in Garwan's shop.

Garwan was very grateful for the party's efforts to protect his town and his store, and decided to donate the horn totem to the parties cause. The group spoke to the local wizard, a mistrusting fellow named Curuvar the Brazen. He had recently taken the horn totem from a group of goblins in a den in the southwood, and promised the party to tell them more about the Ogre King if they could retrieve the skull totem from that location. They also got a lead on an invisible ring, which was purchased by a group of adventurers several days before. Those adventurers had headed west, towards the village of Col Fen.
The group decided to head to the west. In the village of Col Fen, they were able to destroy the threat of an onyx skull artifact that had pulsed back to unlife in an ancient crypt in their cemetery. This involved fighting famine hounds, skeletons, zombies, ghouls, and a pale reaver. The battle was rough at times, but they did prevail. They rescued two villagers, and found several items of value, including a magical sword (Harsh Songblade +1), which the bard claimed. They also located the invisible ring they had been seeking, on the body of one of the zombies.
On the way back to Loudwater, a strange thing happened. A large fairy dragon appeared in their path. She said her name was Pico, and stated that her friend, Master Vim, had something for them. Then she challenged the party to follow her, and flew off into the forest. Unfortunately, she lost the group fairly quickly, in the dense underbrush.

Suddenly, the party caught sight of the dragon, once again! They raced through the forest, and this time, barely managed to keep up. They found Pico waiting on the branch of a large tree, above what seemed to be a small shrine of some sort, consisting of a five-foot-across section of otherwise unremarkable section of forest floor, surrounded by a very low wall. In the middle of the enclosure was a stone ball, about a foot in diameter, with the word VIM carved into it.
Pico complimented the party on their recent defeat of the undead menace in Col Fen, and said that her friend, Master Vim, had a favor to ask. The party accepted, and received a small clear sphere, with instructions to touch the goblin shaman Sancossug with it, when they encountered him in the goblin layer near Loudwater. Then the dragon flew off. The druid Bbitar in the party noticed that there was a small colony of ants living inside the shrine walls, so as a token, they left some crumbs for them to eat.
They then completed their return trip to Loudwater, where they sold several objects of value they had retrieved from the adventure against the undead. They also returned the invisible ring to Darest, who rewarded them with some magical beast armor, which the druid Bbitar accepted for himself.
Next in store for them was an adventure in the goblin lair, southeast of Loudwater. They avoided a trap, fought some goblins and starved dogs, then some hobgoblins, then made their way down deep into the earth, into the tomb of the ogre king. They met Sancossug, and upon touching him with the round gem from Vim, he was magically sucked inside of it! They obtained the skull totem, which the wizard Curuvar, in Loudwater, had asked to see.

The group travelled back to Loudwater. They visited the general store, and learned that there was a gang of criminals operating in the town. Some sleuthing revealed that it was a protection racket. They tracked down a fellow named Narrows, who told them about the Lady of Shadows. They wound up killing him, but were able to find the hideout in the northwest corner of the town. Entering it, they avoided a trap, and faced down a bunch of thugs, a couple of elven archers, and another fellow. Also, there was a darkling there, the lady of shadows. After a big battle, they prevailed.
There were some stairs leading down to some catacombs. Before descending, they received a message from Vim, including another stone. The message was to claim an adult Kruthik. Sure enough, in the caves they found a lair of kruthik, including a hive lord. They managed to win the battle, and found some magic items in these caves.

The group found a tunnel leading to the west, out of town. The group followed it, and emerged in the forest, near Vim's small shrine. There they returned the spheres containing the monsters, into the stone in the shrine. They also noticed a birds nest, on a branch above the shrine. There were baby birds in it, that looked happy.
The group traveled back to Loudwater, where they did a few transactions at the local store. They received some appreciation from Captain Harrowleaf of the town guard, as well as a reward of 90 GP. The alchemist was gone, his store was stripped. They searched for a clue as to where he went but didn't find one.
Early in the morning, they were awakened in the in by a crash outside, and people yelling. The sky went dark. A massive earthmote was hovering over the town! It was traveling slowly, and had clipped the roof of a building in the town. Later, the king of Daggerford, a man named King Brownthorne, appeared, with a number of guards. They had been following the earthmote for two weeks, trying to figure out a way to get up on top of it. Apparently, some halflings in green robes had come out of the mote, when it was in their kingdom, and done some trading. When they left, they took four young women with them, including the princess of that kingdom.
Darest indicated that another invisible ring was likely on the earthmote somewhere, and that the party would receive a 200 GP reward for its return.
The king and his men were too weary to continue following the mote, so he offered the party an unspecified reward if they helped out. They are staying in the green tankard inn. The king purchased some equipment, some horses, and a cart, for the party to continue his quest, to rescue the prisoners. They followed the earthmote for most of the day, but could not determine a way up to the top.
While climbing down a trail into a canyon, the group was attacked by a large party of lizardfolk. In the furious battle that followed, most of the party went down. There was a line of six lizardfolk magi who were flinging devastating poison attacks at the party members, for most of the battle. When the party was almost completely destroyed, Pico the fairy dragon arrived, and the last three lizardfolk, two of which were almost completely dead, fled.
Pico told the group that Vim was interested in the well-being of Silverymoon, and the return of the invisible rings, for some reason, and encouraged the party to go up to the top of the earthmote. She offered to fly someone up to the top, but not the whole group. Someone suggested that they encase the party in some Vim spheres, and carry them up all at once. Bree, the lightest member of the party, agreed to do it. Pico went off for the night, and the party had a good rest. The next morning, she returned with the spheres, and flew Bree up to the top.
They did one flyby, to scout the landscape. They found that it was about five square miles in area, with a large lake in the middle, farmland surrounding, and some forested areas. Next to the lake was a small town, with a walled enclosure in the center. Inside the enclosure was a tower. Pico dropped Bree off in the forest, where she brought back the party (except for the spheres containing the horses and cart).

The party stood on a bare rock, at the very edge of an enormous earthmote. One false step and they would fall a thousand feet, to shatter on the rocky soil far below. They began picking their way through the dense undergrowth of the forest, until they came upon a path. Following the path, they came to a pool in a clearing. There was a halfling dozing, with a partially woven basket in his hands, and a slightly glowing yellow egg on the ground next to him. He was facing the pool, and when awoken, looked surprised, and asked them if they came from the pool. He then tricked them into revealing that they were strangers, and promptly escaped, but not before smashing the glowing egg, and activating a bunch of carnivorous vines, which attached the party.
In the battle with the vines, which went rather poorly for the party, Brother Whim was slain. Afterwards, the group buried him, there by the pool, with the proper ceremonies for Pelor, his deity.
The group determined that this pool was probably a portal to the Feywild, so they went through it. On the other side, they found themselves emerging from a fountain in the center of a town square in the Eladrin city of Launtia. They were warned not to leave the town square, as the surrounding area was fraught with dangers that would surely be the end of the party. They were able to find a gnome named Planetaniuntumnion selling potions at a very good price. They were able to purchase some specially made bottles of MoveReallyFastAtFirstThenBeSlowForAWhile, which allows the imbiber to shift their speed, but them be slowed (save ends). They rested in the inn there, and asked around for sightings of halflings wearing green cloaks, or invisible rings, but got no information.
After a good night's rest, they passed back through the portal, to the material plane, and continued down the trail towards what they hoped was the halfling village. Eventually, the trail opened up into farmland. There were some ragged-looking halflings working the soil. They questioned a fellow named Nut, who became rather taken by Bree. He told her his sad tale.
About twenty years ago, these halflings lived in a village on far-off Returned Abeir, when this large earth mote arrived, and through dark magics, they were all taken into slavery, and placed upon the mote. They masters are a group of six Eladrin wizards, who live in a tower in the center of the village. The halfling was just explaining that the wizards rode on hippogryphs, when two of them were spotted in the sky. The halfling and other farmers fled.
The hippogryphs arrived, and unloaded a bunch of halflings, and a fight commenced. The hippogryphs flew around making attacks from the air. When all were slain but one hippogryph, that one fled into the sky.

After the battle with the hippogryphs and halflings, the party rested briefly, and recovered their health. The halfling farmers had vanished, though one returned (the fellow named Nut, who had rather fallen for Bree) reappeared, and motioned the group to follow him. He led them to a small underground ruin, which these farmers apparently used as a shelter. There were several other halflings in the chamber. The party explained to Nut that they were interested in conducting a raid on the wizards tower. Nut advised them against a frontal assault, as they would surely all perish. The wizards were mighty! Rather, he advised them to try their hand at an approach from below, as the wizards inhabited a series of caves under the tower, which apparently could be reached by means of a fallen ruin in a swampy area at the southeast of the lake. The party agreed to give it a try.
On the way, they passed through a part of the forest, and came upon another group of adventurers, who had emerged from the feywild portal pool a short time before, under the guide of Renie, an eladrin wizard. The two groups agreed to work together for a time.
They reached a shattered blue crystal tower, partially sunk into the muck of the swamp. It was guarded by a large group of slimy bullywugs, and a fearsome battle ensued. The party prevailed without casualty, though they found no treasure. Some climbing and rope usage later, they had entered the remains of the tower, and found a small, but very deep shaft, that led into the granite bedrock of the earthmote, far below. They descended without incident, and found themselves in a wet chamber, with a wide tunnel leading east, which they followed for perhaps a quarter of a mile. They came upon a very old door, which led into what turned out to be an empty room. Perhaps this would be a good, safe place to rest, should they need to fall back at some point. Fresh water was available at the bottom of the shaft, just a few minutes walk back along the tunnel.
The group continued eastward, and found their way into a series of very old caves. Some initial exploration revealed an old dusty tool storage room, then a chamber with a magical crossbow trap and a bunch of Fell Taints. Another fierce battle ensued, but the party did not suffer any permanent damage. Again, they were disappointed in finding no treasure to speak of. Surely there's something glittering and gold in these caves, somewhere!

- Trushoot human ranger, played by Steve Myers
- Bjorkus minotaur barbarian, played by Vaas
- Marc human artificer, played by (was it Dave?)
The group tried the two large doors heading east, but they were magically sealed. Listening to them, they heard a low-pitched snort, as if some enormous beast lay beyond them. They found a water-producing crystal, and adjusted it to make water to fill the empty pools, and explored this dungeon a bit more. To the west, they found a room with a bunch of zombies in it. In a chamber beyond it, they found the remains of some adventurers, who were quite well-equipped! There was a bag of 99 gold pieces, and a number of magical items, which they divided as follows:
- Trushoot: lvl 4 cloak of distortion +1, lvl 2 vicious greatbow +1
- Sammel: lvl 3 orb of farseeing, lvl 2 amulet of physical resolve, lvl 2 cloak of resistance +1
- Bree: lvl 3 sylvan leather armor +1
- Emlath: lvl 2 chain armor +1
After finding this treasure, they met up with Bjorkus and Marc, a couple more adventurers. They found a casino room, with a spinning wheel. After a few spins, and spending a few gold pieces, the minotaur (Bjorkus) got annoyed, and smashed it. They got their money back.
Further exploration revealed a room with some wraiths and a couple of zombies, which they defeated with a few well-placed blows. They took an extended rest after this battle, after which a wizard's apprentice, an Eladrin male named Rejardin. He was dashing through the dungeon, claiming to be chased by a bunch of demons. Sure enough, demons were behind him. Another battle ensued, after which Rejarin hastily departed their company.

The group explored the northern maze of corridors, and determined that there were two other exits: One to the southeast, and one to the northeast. They checked, and found signs that Rejarin had come through the northeast door, so they took that one. It led to a room where a group of halflings, some in green cloaks, were gathered. They attacked immediately. The battle went fairly well, with one halfling left alive, a sly thief named Bart. They disarmed him, and threatened him to get information. He led them through a series of corridors and doors, ostensibly leading to the Wizards of Com to the north. He indicated that to the south were some monsters.
He led them to a room full of Zairtails, whereupon they attacked and killed him. The group killed the monsters, and found some treasure. They also killed a wraith and some zombies, and found more treasure. Then they headed to the south, where they found an iron golem whose job was apparently to turn an enormous wheel, thus opening and closing a large door elsewhere. They left the golem alone, and found some more doors. Eventually, they found themselves in an enormous room with eight pillars in it, and a green dragon in the center.
They were doing pretty good at talking to it, until the dragon sensed someone hiding, and saw the halfling Bree wearing a green cloak, whereupon he attacked. The battle was fierce, and Bree went down towards the end, though the party inflicted massive damage on the dragon. Eventually they prevailed, and found a chest with several useful magic items inside.

After defeating the dragon, the party went and camped out in the golemn's gear room, where it seemed safe. After a good night's sleep, they explored the enormous chamber where they had fought the green dragon. Bree found a small secret door leading to the south, at the base of the balcony. They went through it, and found several rooms and corridors.
They were busily prying gems off the walls off of an old abandoned reception room, when Rejarin and a bunch of undead showed up, and attacked. The party defeated the undead, but Rejarin made a break for it, blinding a bunch of the group, then teleporting out of the area and taking off down the dragon's entrance to the east. Bree immediately took off in chase, and even though Rejarin was very fast, and had a great headstart, she managed to catch up with him. Then a bunch of drakes emerged from some side tunnels and attacked, the the battle resumed.
Trueshoot managed an amazing long-range shot, and took down Rejarin with an arrow through the chest. They finished off the drakes, except for one that had attacked Rejarin; that one was enjoying an Eladrin repast, when suddenly it tipped over dead. The group came up and checked into the situation, and found that Rejarin had a powerful Orcus amulet on him. They carefully wrapped it up and stowed it in their gear. They also found a note from the wizards of Com, asking Rejarin to get the amulet out of the treasure room, take it to the southern caves, and use it to bring back some undead to help with some battle. He was warned to perform some ritual before touching the amulet. Apparently he'd neglected that step, because the fellow was quite mad.
They went back down into some corridors they hadn't been in before, and found an ancient wine celler, infested with kruthik. There was a hive lord there as well. The dangerous insectoid beasts kept burrowing new tunnels during the fight. The party defeated them handily, and noticed a rusty iron door at the back of the cellar.

The door to the cellar proved to be rather difficult to open. Bree got her hand stabbed by a poisoned spike, and it took three of them to jimmy the lock. When they finally got inside, they found an old alchemist workshop. Sifting through the many racks of spoiled potions, they did manage to find a dozen or so valuable alchemical items and potions, which they added to their packs.
Having explored this part of the caves, they went back to the giant South Hall, where they had killed the dragon earlier. Suddenly, they heard screaming, and saw a young woman fleeing into the room from the unexplored corridor to the north. Hot on her tail was a pack of gnaw demons. The girl, who turned out to be Princess Festress, ran right through the group and was headed south, when Bree and Rini got her to stop fleeing. The rest of the party battled the demons, handily defeating them, while the two ladies calmed down the terrified princess. She said that there were some of her friends up to the north, held captive by the wizards, but that there were demons and wizards battling.
The party debated for a while, and Emlath was in favor of jettisoning from the earthmote with the princess, leaving her friends. Eventually they decided to at least check out the situation to the north. They popped the girl into a Vim Sphere first. When they went north through the wide corridor leading to the northern caves of Com, they found an area guarded by a rather battered group of halflings. There was a large crack in the ground, with a wooden bridge passing over it. They defeated the halfling guards, and found a chest with some strange rods in it. To the north, they found a room with more of these rods. They identified them as floatrods; a person can hang onto them, then leap from a height, and be gently let down. The ends of the rods grew shorter as a person fell.
Further to the north, they found a guard chamber, littered with the bodies of slain halflings and demons. A pack of new demons attacked them here, and a battle ensued. Two runespiral demons blasted the group with successive lightling bursts, which did a lot of damage. Lythe went down. The group could hear the sounds of battle from somewhere to the west, and periodically the corridor shook with the force of explosions somewhere.
Suddenly, the entire wall of the corridor was destroyed in a huge blast, revealing a terrifying sight: The South Hall was on the other side of this wall, about twenty feet below, and four powerful wizards were battling to the death against a host of terrible demonic creatures. There was a large summoning pattern on the floor, which has possibly been used to summon a demon. Perhaps that demon had then brought in some reinforcements? There was an alter here, with the remains of a young girl on it.
The group quailed at the sight, and almost broke and ran, but Lathe was down, and they didn't want to leave him. Blasts of lightning and acid from the battle below injured party members and monsters, but they stuck it out and defeated the group of demons they were fighting. Unfortunately, one last departing blast from a runespiral demon hit the unconscious Lythe so hard that he was permanently destroyed. Grieving their loss, the party finished off the monsters, then they scampered back the way they had come, and hid out to tend to their wounds, armor, weapons, and spells. When they came back, they found that the wizards were all apparently dead, but the demons had looted their area and departed.
They freed the other girls, then combed through the remains of the battle, and the residential area of the wizards. They gathered several thousand gold pieces of treasure, and found some useful magical armor. In a treasure room, they found a bunch of opened, empty chests. Bree thoroughly checked through these, feeling in the bottoms, and located the invisible ring that they were supposed to be searching for.

The party found some more prison cells in the residential area, and freed some other adventurers, who joined the group. With eleven members of the group, they were more of an army than an adventuring party. They hadn't yet ventured up the spiral staircase, so they headed that way, up the wizards tower. The first level featured a nice living area, with soft couches, and an outer doorway that led out into the halfling village. The second level had a complex magical device, that was making a humming sound. Rini, the wizard, spent some time studying it, and determined that it was a mechanism for controlling the motion of the earthmote. The very top of the tower was open, with a stunning view of the surrounding countryside. The halflings from the village below came out of their huts and cheered when Bree announced that the wizards were dead.
While thus distracted, however, a group of flying griffons were approaching. They attacked, and a huge battle was joined. There were eladrin fey knights riding on the two griffons, and three halfling prowlers in a hippogriff. After a furious battle, the adventurers were victorious. They killed the hippogriff as one eladrin was attempting to use it to flee. They took him prisoner, and questioned him about the dealings of the wizards. He confirmed what they had learned. They put him into a Vim sphere.
Looking around, they determined that they were in an area just south of the Far Forest, about a hundred miles west of a large opening into the underdark. They spied out what appeared to be King Brownthorne below, waiting to get his daughter back, so they determined to dock the earthmote and disembark. First they sent down a halfling emissary to tell the King their plans. They headed east for about ten hours, found a suitable cliff, and lowered it to about the level of the nearby land. The King rewarded them with gold and horses in exchange for the girls' safe return. The halfling village left the earthmote, and headed out into the wilderness with all of their belongings on their backs or in carts, driving their animals with them.
Rini then raised the earthmote back up into the sky, and sent it westward, heading to Silverymoon to deliver the second invisible ring, the one they had found in the earthmote. Unfortunately, for an unknown reason the earthmote's control mechanism ceased humming. Shortly afterwards, it stopped moving, over a river to the west of where they had been. The party used the floatrods, and descended to the ground, where the extracted their horse and cart from the Vim sphere, as well as their other horses. They then proceeded north along the riverbank.
After a while, while going through a prairie area, they noticed a low wall in a seemingly empty area. It was another Vim shrine. They met Bob, the talking prairie dog, who brought some messages from Vim. Following Vim's directions, they returned all of the Vim spheres they had, into the spherical stone at the center of the shrine's area, and removed one empty one. They were also told that Vim was interested in getting that invisible ring over to Silverymoon. They were to spend the night in the area, and some wolves would come. Vim wanted a dire wolf in the vim stone. Bob said that Vim would protect the horses inside the enclosure.
So the party camped out at the corner of the shrine, waiting inside the wall. They had set some traps for the wolves. When the wolves came, the party attacked. Either Vim lied about the protection, or attacking from inside the walled area negated it, because the wolves and longtooth shifters leapt right over the wall, and the horses ran off into other places within the walled area. The fight went fairly well, though Nalla took a great deal of damage. Bree affixed the Vim sphere to the end of a crossbow bolt, and fired it at an attacking dire wolf, but the shot went wide, and she had to go off in the night seeking it, while Rini used her powerful magic to hold the beast at bay. One of the grey wolves was captured by a trap. Finally they defeated the beasts, and as Vim had promised, they found some treasure behind the spherical stone.
At this point, Rini declared that she was now worshipping Vim as a deity.

The party came to a fork in the road. Each fork had a sign, and went to a different village. The sign pointing towards the westward fork read, "Come and visit the scenic village of Pelliwig, and enjoy a well-deserved evening of relaxation, fine dining, and musical entertainment!" That sign, however, had a raven perched on it, which looked at the party, croaked "death" and then fell over dead. The sign pointing towards the eastward fork stated, "That amazing marketplace of D'Snane is where you want to visit this day. Mention this sign, and get 5% off every purchase!" The lettering was hard to make out, due to the excessive orcish graffiti covering it. One corner of the sign caught on fire as the party watched, and it quickly burned to a stump.
The party took the westward fork. The village seemed pleasant enough, but there was a large ruined temple overshadowing it. The party received a commission to go and take care of an undead problem in the temple catacomb. They had a large battle with many skeletons, zombies, and four wraiths, in which they defeated the monsters handily. They explored the catacombs, and found a metal spike stuck into a rune-covered area of the wall in the back of the catacombs, piercing a piece of pale bone. Though it caused pain to them several of the party members managed to get it free. They went up to the surface, and collected their reward. They kept the metal spike with the aura of evil on it, taking it to Fentherick, a high-priest in Silverymoon.
On the road, they met up with a caravan with six wagons. The former captain of the (now dead) guards was a woman named RoAnn, but she was dismissed when the leader, Janith, decided to hire the party to be the guards, in exchange for a wagon full of wine. They are headed to Sundabar.

While camping for the night, a group of five very tough orcs showed up and engaged the party in a battle. After only a short time, though, they fled down the road to the west. Some of the party members followed a bit, then came back to the wagons to guard them. It didn't do much good, though, because an enormous group of about fifty orcs showed up. After some debate, the party wisely fled up to the top of the nearby cliff, and hid out. Gardain used a scroll to create a hallowed temple, in which the party took refuge from the orcs, who weren't able to find them in the temple. RoAnn had fled to the west, and the party didn't find out where she went. All of the wagon drivers were killed, and the wagons were gone. The party headed west, for Silverymoon.
They came to the remains of the Fording Inn, which had recently been demolished. A skeleton was found inside with some treasure. The group scouted around the area, when a kobold stumbled onto them. He squeezed his eyes shut, and began to chant and tap on a dragon scale embedded on his chest. Shortly afterwards, a young grey dragon and a young green dragon arrived and immediately attacked, along with some more kobolds. After a fierce battle (the last half of which became somewhat muddled; nobody really remembers it), the party prevailed, and went on to Silverymoom.
In the city of Silverymoon, the party learned that there was some to-do about a mysterious new deity who was rising, though nobody knew the name, or much about it at all. They delivered the ring, and were asked to come back the next day for a reward, and for some additional conversation.
This is the end of the first chapter of this campaign
It is continued in Invisible Rings Stormwind.
